Remarkably Early
A few months ago, I mentioned ordering a Remarkable Tablet.
Well, here are my first early thoughts and the reason I bought it.
I wanted one place where I could have all my thinking, ideas and planning. Yes, I could have put a lot of these thoughts in a folder on my laptop, but somehow that wasn’t going to be enough. It needed to be more of a journal/paper experience. This would be a tool I would enjoy using and be away from the usual distractions on a connected laptop.
Ok, so how do I use it (its been two weeks since getting it).
I have pdfs stored in it. Some of these pdfs I have scribbled and added further notes with the pen
Scanned documents are stored
I can take notes on it with a pen like writing on paper
Summaries of books using the pen are stored, some by using the pen to “paper” experience and some because I have used highlights on my kindle and then transferred the summarised passages as a document.
The above doesn’t sound much, and perhaps doesn’t convey the experience. In essence though, early thoughts are this is my definite go to as my place for thinking. Perhaps look at their website to get a better feel for what the device can do.
One thing I would like it do, and I don’t think it can, is use pdfs with embedded links so you skip easily around large documents.
Apart from that, I would recommend taking a look, although it is not cheap at over £300.
